Creative Expressions for Eco-Stress

In 2023, I initiated the Southern Arizona Alliance of Expressive Arts Therapists to support the well-being of our Southern Arizona communities through art-making, dance/movement, poetry, and music.

I’m so pleased that our first offering addresses emotion related to climate change and waning bio-diversity on our beloved planet.

Heart and Hands: Creative Expression for Eco-Stress invites you — within a supportive community — to feel, express, and care for what’s real in you about climate change.

This space will provide creative outlets for exploring and transforming eco-stress through art-making, writing, music and expressive movement/ dance. Please join us!

I find great joy in the beauty of spring in Tucson; at the same time, I’m acutely aware of our summers growing hotter and longer. And I’m aware of climate related disasters worldwide. Daily, I find myself in the “two truths” space of embracing joy when it’s available to me, while being aware of what’s happening to and on this planet; so, when it’s available to me, I also allow my heart to break. My brain is confused by this paradox: it doesn’t seem possible. But my heart is clear — I just need to give it space to be itself, to feel all that it feels.
